DAY 1: HUARAZ (3,100 m. 10,170 ft) – CUARTELHUAIN (4,180 m. 13,713 ft)
We depart after breakfast at 8 am heading south from Huaraz, passing through traditional villages and arriving at Conococha Lagoon (4,100 m. 13,451 ft) with a good view of the mountains. Afterwards, we descend to the traditional village of Chiquian (3,370 m. 11,056 ft) with views of local agriculture and livestock. We will also pass through the traditional villages of Llamac, Pocpa, and La Mina Palca. We will arrive at the campsite for lunch and then climb to a small viewpoint (4,560 m. 14,960 ft) where we will see part of the Huayhuash mountain range, as part of our acclimatization process.

DAY 2: CUARTELHUAIN (4,180 m. 13,713 ft) – JANCA (4,200 m. 13,779 ft)
Hike up the hillside to the Cacananpunta pass (4,680 m. 15,354 ft) where there is a good view of part of the Huallanca mountain range. This is where the Ancash region ends, and we now enter the Huánuco department, descending to the valley with views of the peaks of the Huayhuash mountain range, including Ninashanca, Jirishanca Grande, Mituraju, and Rondoy. After a rest, we head to visit the Mitucocha lagoon to appreciate the wild birds in their habitat. You can also witness a spectacular sunrise.

DAY 3: JANCA (4,200 m. 13,779 ft) – CARHUACOCHA (4,250 m. 13,943 ft)
We have the option of going to the Yanayana pass (4,700 m. 15,420 ft) where the spectacular view of the Alcaycocha lagoon and then to the Carhuacocha lagoon viewpoint and other lagoons, the view from this point is impressive where the view from the camp of the snow-capped peaks Jirishjanca West, Jirishjanca Central, Yerupaja, El Toro and Siula, this camp is considered the best of the Huayhuash circuit and also with a spectacular Andean sunrise.

DAY 4: CARHUACOCHA (4,250 m. 13,944 ft) – HUAYHUASH (4,360 m. 14,305 ft)
A beautiful sunrise can also be appreciated to enjoy the enchanting landscape from the viewpoint (4,560 m.) the three enchanting lagoons of different colors and then you reach the Punta Siula pass which is at (4,800 m. 15,748 ft) where the view is impressive on all 4 sides, peaks of the highest summits of the Huayhuash mountain range, as you descend the view of the trapezium peak and others, Carnicerococha lagoon and then to the camp. This day is considered one of the best and strongest routes of the circuit.

DAY 5: HUAYHUASH (4,360 m. 14,305 ft) – VICONGA (4,360 m. 14,305 ft)
The trapezoidal peak of Puscanturpa is visible. At the Huayhuash pass (4,700 m. 15,420 ft), the Raura mountain range with its enchanting peaks can be observed. It is here that we leave the department of Huánuco and enter the department of Lima. We descend to Viconga Lagoon, considered the largest on the circuit, and then continue to the hot springs where you can enjoy a warm bath and the scenery.

DAY 6: VICONGA (4,360 m. 14,305 ft) – CUYOC OR ELEPHANT CAMP (4,460 m. 14,633 ft)
The Puscanturpa peak can also be seen. It is a climb through grasslands to the Cuyococha lagoon and at the Cuyoc pass (5,000 m. 16,404 ft) the panorama is spectacular with views to both sides. It is the second highest pass of the entire classic circuit. Once at the camp, we rest and then head to visit the Huanacpataycocha lagoon to enjoy our day.

DAY 7: CUYOC OR ELEPHANT (4,460 m. 14,633 ft) – HUALLAPA (3,500 m. 11,480 ft).
We depart towards the San Antonio pass, a very demanding climb to (5,050 m. 16,568 ft), the highest point of the circuit. It offers an incredible view of the peaks of Siula Grande, Yerupaja, Carnicero, Jurau, Sarapo, Rasac, and at the foothills, the enchanting lagoons. Afterwards, we almost descend (800 m.) to the Calinca valley, where we continue to reach the village (camp), enjoying the activities of the local people, traditional clothing, etc.

DAY 8: HUALLAPA (3,500 m. 11,480 ft) – GASHPA (4,600 m. 15,091 ft).
We will ascend towards the Milo ravine where you can see peaks like Diablo Mudo, a very accessible summit that many climbers attempt, and the Tapush pass (4,770 m. 15,649 ft). Here the Lima department ends and the Ancash region begins, offering a beautiful view of the Cordillera Blanca.

DAY 9: GASHPA (4,600 m. 15,091 ft) – JAHUACOCHA (4,050 m. 13,287 ft)
We take the slope to the Yaucha pass (4,800 m. 15,748 ft) where you can appreciate the mountain range, then we take an alternate route to the viewpoint that is (4,920 m. 16,141 ft) where you can appreciate the mountain ranges with a 360-degree turn, then we continue to another panoramic viewpoint (4,650 m. 15,223 ft) where we will see enchanting lagoons and descend to the camp where you can also take a short walk around the Jahuacocha lagoon.

DAY 10: JAHUACOCHA (4,050 m. 13,287 ft) – LLAMAC
We take the route through the pampa and begin to climb through the Quenuales forests and at the Cruz Punta pass (4,450 m. 14,599 ft) there is a very good view of the Huayhuash mountain range and we descend to the town of Llamac (3,250 m. 10,662 ft) with a good view of the agriculture of the local people, where the transport awaits us, rest and then Huaraz and directly to your hostels.
